Brockhampton - Junky

I went back and forth quite a lot on which Brockhampton song to showcase. This is one of my all time favorite groups, and the sheer amount of their catalog is insane. The group formed after quite a few of them met on a Kanye West forum (before he had his turn into Nazism of course). And Brockhampton isn’t just the artists themselves - there’s also producers, a graphic designer, photographer, and web designer.

As for Junky, I feel like it’s a great representation of the group. It shows the homemade style they are really known for, because it is homemade. Half of their discography was produced independently by the group, but for the better. There’s something raw and authentic about everything related to their music.

And as for the artists themselves, they are all super talented individually, but it hits even harder just hearing how well they all blend together. They each have their own distinctive style, but it’s all complimentary within the group. If you like Junky, I promise you will like the rest of their music as well, and it’s all worth a listen.

But if you do like it, I have bad news. They unfortunately disbanded and no longer make music together. But the silver lining is like I said before, the volume of music they did make is staggering. They have 6 albums and 1 mixtape - 3 of their albums alone were released within just half a month! So there is a lot of great music out there for you to enjoy from Brockhampton!
