Avi Kaplan - Peace Somehow
From the very beginning, you’ll hear this one is quite a bit different. Avi Kaplan has an insanely deep voice, one that suits the folk genre amazingly. But before his journey as a folk artist, he was actually the bass for the acapella group, Pentatonix. He was with them during the launch of their career, winning the singing contest The Sing Off with the group, and stayed with them for several years after. It wasn’t until he left Pentatonix that he transitioned from their pop sound to a more folksy one.
As the title suggests, Peace Somehow has an almost meditative quality to it. You can just lean back, close your eyes, and feel yourself searching for your own inner peace as you listen. It’s incredibly relaxing without ever getting boring. The song keeps building as it progresses, and still keeps the zen feeling. Definitely give it a listen if you ever find yourself in need of a moment to reflect, relax, or just feel in the moment!
